ADHD therapy

ADHD can be treated with a variety of therapies. Consult your doctor to see if one or more of these solutions are a good fit for you.

Psychotherapy

There are several different types of psychotherapy that can help you better manage your ADHD symptoms. Psychotherapy, for example, can help you open up about your feelings about coping with ADHD. You may have issues with classmates and authoritative figures if you have ADHD. Psychotherapy can assist you in managing these connections more effectively. You may also be able to study your behavior patterns in psychotherapy and learn how to make better choices in the future.

Theraputic behavior modification

The purpose of behavior therapy is to teach someone how to keep track of their actions and then make suitable changes. You'll come up with methods for how you'll react in different scenarios. These tactics frequently include some form of immediate feedback to aid in the learning of appropriate behaviour. A token reward system, for example, could be designed to encourage positive conduct.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a goal-oriented, short-term psychotherapy that tries to change negative thought habits and replace them with a fresh perspective on yourself and your ADHD symptoms. CBT can assist people with ADHD in dealing with "life impairments" such as time management and procrastination. It can also assist them in overcoming irrational thought patterns that keep them from completing tasks, such as "This needs to be perfect, or else it's no good."
